Do you have a go-to ice cream spot near your SoCo Austin apartments? Most of our residents would say Amy’s Ice cream is their favorite spot, but we want to make sure everyone knows about all the ice cream shops in the neighborhood. It’s about to get hot again in Austin, which means you’re going to want to know exactly where to go for ice cream.
Whether you’re into classic cake cones, futuristic ice cream or a simple sundae, you’ll find an awesome ice cream shop on the list below. Let’s dive right in, shall we? When you’re done reading the post, please be sure to share the link to this post with your friends and neighbors at your community of apartments in South Austin.
You’ve probably already been to Amy’s, but we no list of Austin ice cream spots is complete without this SoCo staple. The best thing about Amy’s is the customer service. Despite the fact that there’s almost always a line, the staff is consistently friendly and serves every bowl or cone with a smile. The second best thing about Amy’s is that it’s only 2 blocks away!
Earlier in the post, we mentioned futuristic ice cream. If you’ve been wondering what that is, here’s your answer. The ice cream at The Science Cream is made with liquid nitrogen. If you've ever walked by this trailer on South Congress on a hot day, you’ve probably seen what looks like smoke billowing out of the windows. Not only is this cool to see, but the liquid nitrogen crystallizes the ice cream super quickly. This makes the ice cream super creamy, super delicious, and super unique.
This cute little gelato place puts an emphasis on quality. They want customers to enjoy their experience, so they’ll let you sample as many flavors as you want before you make your decision. The most popular flavor is the bee pollen gelato, but we’ve also heard good things about the matcha and the goat cheese and pecan flavors. It’s super convenient to go here because they have their own parking lot, so check this place out next time you’re in the mood for something sweet!
The last shop on our list is actually a frozen yogurt shop, but it’s so close to the community that we had to include it on this list. If you walk across the South Congress bridge and hang a left, you’ll see Berry Austin. It’s a hip, locally owned frozen yogurt shop that serves fresh yogurt and even fresher ingredients. If you like to customize your dessert, this is the spot to go to. Plus, it’s much healthier than ice cream!
Those are all the ice cream shops we’ve got to talk about this week, residents! As always, we appreciate you taking some time out of your busy schedule to read the latest edition of the CityView at SoCo blog. We hope you enjoy one of the ice cream shops on this list, and that you’re able to cool off quickly next time the mercury rises over 100!
