A lot of people move into our South Congress apartments because they want to live in the heart of Austin. They decide that they’ll figure out the whole job situation once they’re here. If you have the financial flexibility to do that, more power to you. Eventually though, you’ll have to buckle down and start scheduling interviews. When you reach that point in your job search, be sure to refer back to this blog post.
Below, we’ll be sharing some tips that should help you ace your next interview and land that career-altering job. We’re not going to tell you to change your whole interviewing strategy because being comfortable during your interview is as important as anything. We are, however, going to tell you about a few small things you can do to be the best candidate you can be.
Without further delay, let’s get right to the list of interview tips! When you’re done reading through it, please be sure to share the link with your friends. Better yet, share it with your neighbors at Muse — the South Congress apartments Austin residents choose for contemporary comfort and style.
Record a video
You can do all the prep work in the world, but none of it will matter if your body language and speech patterns don’t align with what you're saying. Sounding confident and looking confident are two very different things, and you want to make sure you're doing both. The only way to get a look at your body language before the interview is to record yourself doing a mock interview. It might sound like a lot of work, but it will pay off in the long run!
Dress professionally and comfortably
It’s hard to act like the authentic person that you are when you’re wearing clothes that you wouldn’t normally wear. We’re not going to tell you to dress down for your interview, but we are telling you to make sure you’re comfortable. Wear your interview outfit ahead of time, so you’re not putting it on for the first time on the day of your interview. If you can, wear shoes that you’re comfortable in. The little things make a big difference.
Check the company’s social media pages
For the most up to date info about the company you’re applying to, look no further than the company’s social media accounts. Once you have the info from the social accounts, you’ll be able to ask topical questions and look better prepared.
