The first restaurant on our list actually isn’t on South Congress, but it is just a few blocks over on South First. Go for the upscale ambiance, stay for the innovative menu that’s filled with new twists on Thai dishes.

Cafe No Se

Few restaurants in Austin look as good as Cafe No Se. This charming little eatery is located in the same building as the South Congress Hotel, and it’s got some of the best avocado toast in town. Whether you go for a quick bite or a long drawn out lunch, we think you’ll enjoy your lunch experience at Cafe No Se.

Taco Joint

You’ve probably passed Taco Joint a million times without ever thinking about going inside. It has a generic name, it’s at a busy intersection, and it’s one of dozens of taco spots in this part of town. Despite all that, Taco Joint is worth a visit. It’s got a beautiful patio, huge serving sizes and some of the most inventive tacos we’ve ever seen. The best part is, Taco Joint is just a hop, skip and a jump away from Muse at SoCo.
